A Technics dealer told me today that a final decision about whether or not to introduce the KN7000 to the U.S. market had not been made as yet. He said the reason was that the 6500 was selling well here, inventories were high, and that situation may hold for a while, or indefinitely. Could it be that we'll never see, hear, or play the 7000?

Please don't let this happen.
I already ordered a kn7000.
I made a prepayment.
Maybe it will not be the case in Europe or what you are saying is just a rumour.

Hi Larry, it appears (to me) that the ONLY reason your Technics dealer said that is because he needs to continue to sell KN6500s. If he acknowledged the US release of the KN7000, he would effectively be discouraging people from purchasing KN6500s. Sounds like he's a real 'shrewd' businessman. I'm confident that the KN7000 will be available here in the US by the end of the year. If you can, I'd recommend holding off a purchase until the KN7000 arrives. Just my opinion. - Scott

You're probably right----there were two 6500's on the floor at the time. He also said that if the 7000 is introduced here, it had been "pushed back" to September. That's strange, since I thought at best it would be closer to Christmas. He said that it might be available only in Europe. Another dealer told me that he's waiting to hear if it will be shown at the summer NAMM show in Nashville. No word on that as yet, he said.

Scottyee is right. Dealers will most likely tell you something like this to push the sales of the KN6500... If they tell a customer the KN7000 will be available soon, that person might hold off until it arrives in the US... Dealers want to get the 6500's off the floors first.... Larry how much was the 6500 going for in that store?

I saw on the site : http://www.technics.co.uk/emid/
there is a banner that is telling us to look at http://www.technics7000.com.
There is still nothing to see...I suppose they will reveal something in the near future.

Greetings,
Alain

The price of the 6500's was $2,495. I think that's what the man said.
