Hi, I have an AUDYA 4 and a SD7, I copy the styles from AUDYA 4 to SD7 and convert them to *.KST.
If the style had Audio Drum in AUDYA 4 it disspears but I can search an Audio Drum in the SD7's MODELING MENU, but the problem is that the INTROs and the ENDINGs don't play (not sound), why? it's the same audio drum in AUDYA 4 and SD7.
Can anybody help me?

I too have the SD7 and have converted nearly 8000 styles from various ketron products to use on my SD7. The Audya styles seem to convert from .PAT to .KST format but they don't play on the SD7.

Perhaps AJ can jump in here and tell us why. Also, I have tried Henni's styles and they too will not convert and play on the SD7.

AUDYA AUDIO Style format:-
Stereo wave files that stream from the hard disk (or AjamSonic SSD). So each style has 18 wave loops associated with it and when you press intro, Arranger A-D, Fill ... etc, the corresponding wave file associated with that part is streamed instantly from the HD.

SD7 AUDIO STYLE FORMAT:-
In the SD7, the Audio is sliced and controlled via MIDI (as grooves from previous KETRON products). This allows for better control of the audio parts especially when it comes to changing the tempo (greater changes can be made to SD7 styles than Audya styles), but it is managed as Midi data (not an audio file).

So when you convert from one to another, you loose parts because the corresponding parts are not there in the machine you just converted to. The conversion only manages the MIDI part ... so when you convert e.g. an AUDYA style to SD7, you loose:-
* Audio Drums.
* Audio Bass (AjamSonic - where applicable).
* Audio/Live Guitar
** 3/10 tracks are instantly lost. The remaining 7 will have to be re-balanced, assigned/remapped ...etc.

Hope this explains it better.

Thanks,

AJ

Hi, is there anyway to convert Audya's factory audio drums into separate wave files?
For example, if I would like to keep the A, B, C variation the same as the audio drums, but change only the D variation with a custom User Audio Drum.
If I had everything in wave files I could associate them in A-D correspondingly.

They were designed this way to prevent such actions ... you will have to re-record/sample each one ... :-(
