Hi there!

I own a XV-88 since a few weeks now, and I haven't get for what the zones settings are.

e.g. the KeyRange Parameters:
There are Key Range Parameters in a Performance for a part, and i can set KeyRange settings for each zone.

What is the difference?

Can somebody explain me for what you can set up zones because the parameters are also in the performance settings?

Haven't got an XV, but I can tell you what Key ranges are:

It sets the area of the keyboard that patch/tone responses to.

So for example:
A zone may have a bass part on the bottom part of the keyboard, but then splits to another part at a certain point.
The bass parts keyrange would be from C 0 to C 3
The other parts would range from C#3 to C 7

You decide what parts of the keyboard you wish the patches/tones to use.

Thanks for your reply..

I know what key ranges are for...

But:

I think you need to have a XV to understand my problem.
at the xv you have two possibilities for setting key ranges:
Performance Mode -> Edit -> Key Range
and
Zone -> Key Ranges

I don't know why you can set a extra zone. I set the keyranges already in the performance parameters. Why in Zone again?
