ive got the whole midi thing working now:
keyboard midi-> soundcard midi in
soundcard midi out-> x5dr midi in

but now the problem i have is when i want to make a stereo WAV from cubase
or cakewalk.......IS the only way to get the X5DR sounds recorded onto the
computer is through line in??? and the line out on the X5DR has two
ports: one for right and one for left. So I can record either the right
channel or the left. Any ideas how to get past this? What do you do
when you have a completed midi song and want to make it a wav? Thanks

The only way to get ANY audio (mic, guitar, synths, cassette player, etc) is from the line out of the instrument to the line in of the sound card. It's easier when you have a mixer but you can go direct (line out R. of korg to line in R.of soundcard...and..line out L. of Korg to line in L. of sound card....Just like a home stereo.
