Could these be regarded as vintange synth modules like the Emu vintage keys, Roland MVS-1 and Akai SG01v? What are your thoughts on this?

The Matrix 1000 is vintage in my book. It's a collection of the best Matrix 6 sounds, submitted by users. Or something.

I second tek on his praise for the Matrix 1000. It is a great module to add analog synthesis to your rig at a budget price. And it is modern enough to provide a healthy amount of built in preset sounds.

Who really cares if it is considered vintage or not. The fact that it is newer analog technology just means it is much more stable than some older synths. If it sounds good it is good !!!

The Matrix 1000 went back into production because it was so popular. The new box was in black, while the old one is white.

Very true Nigel. Today's analog componentry is totally predictable, yet it still may achieve those tweaked settings of in-between sounds. For instance, I use external filtering on my SH-7 for ƒ rez and cuttoff that has 15 turn pots. It makes those in-between spots to have a much wider window to work in. LOL sometimes I will even come across a narrow band in-between the in-betweens. Makes me think that if I had used 30 turn parts that even more benefit would come exposed.(and I could sit there turning dials all day too)
Yeah, I guess the Matrix prevents great sounding analog at budget price from being oxymoronic.
