I have an old Ensoniq EPSm sampler here in my lil' studio. It runs on double density floppies. Those floppies are getting harder and harder to come by and my current double density floppies are beginnig to degrade. Does any of you know of any way other than to buy a modern sampler to replace it of getting this thing a little bit more modern ? I love using this unit and it would be a shame to give it up.

Check with Ensoniq if it's possible to change the drive. The EPS is really nice. I wish I had bought that as my first, instead of the horror, that is the SQ1+ keyboard.

I came across a couple of links: http://www.chickensys.com/kb/010.html http://www.chickensys.com/kb/022.html

Reading that 2nd link, all I can say is, take good care of the drive itself too.

Does it have a SCSI port? I have an ASR-10 and I use a SCSI zip drive instead of floppies.

eps had alot of options from ensoniq. output expansion to 8 outs & memory expansion 2 , 4 or 8 mg in a volitial RAM cartrage . i dont remember if scsi was an option or standard.

should hopefull still be available from your local emu dealer. if emu still has the parts . if not theyll give you the number for t-soniq. and you can get it direct from them.

btw asr samples are directly loadable by emu samplers as long as they have updated Opperating system. no conversion needed
