Does anyone know how to set up a system where a laptop computer program can be started at the same time that the start button is pressed on a KN6500 keyboard? Can this be done through a midi cable? If so, how? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi Peter,

Peter is an excellent name by the way and just by sheer coincidence happens to be my name as well. Plus all the girls love Peteys
anyway JA! your question is one I can answer. If your Lap has a gameport then we are in luck. I shall continue in presumption that the laptop is one common PC based unit and not a Mac or Atari, Alphaone, or other specialty based music computer. This gameport is for serial based data and is why it is what is commonly used in interface to the MIDI plug standard. You can pick up one of those handy dany adaptors at a store that sells cakewalk software, or maybe luckily at an electronics surplus supply somewhere. This will operate your KN (Technics?) keyboard.
Best to you sir, and your sound too.
