Dan,

Thanx
so much

This XD9 unit sounds awesome, organs, drums and bass, sax,
very real and exciting. Should be a monster to record
with in the studio track by track too with these great
sounds.

Donny ,

Interesting that you brought up the recording
aspect of the Ketron products .

Let's say you record using a style .
#1.The abiltiy to record direct to harddrive is very convenient .
#2. Now you can accually separate that recording into 16 different tracks directly on the harddrive . This gives you the ability to play those separate tracks into whatever recording device your using . Even have the ability to edit the effects of each track .
#3. Now with the drum remix feature , you can experiment different drum tracks from the patterns or styles !
This is very handy ! Nothing quite like .

I love recording with my SD1 . I think I'll have to get the XD3 to go along with it !

dano ketron-o-holic ?

Dan: Very impressive demo. Awesome rhythm grooves and terrific instrument sounds. The mix sounded great too. Everything really comes ALIVE ! The previous complaints I had thinking the bass track's volume over dominated the mix on UD's XD9 demo wasn't evident on your demo whatsoever. Were your demos recorded using the XD9's factory 'default' auto accomp part volume settings?

Btw: I still would love to hear a sample of the XD9's 'exposed' initimate jazz cocktail lounge styles (drums, bass, piano only) Particularly interested to hear how the XD9's 'jazz brush ballad' (ei: Misty) & 'medium-uptempo swing' (ei: Night and Day) styles sound. Any chance? - Scott

Hi Dan. GREAT ! I really look forward to hearing your upcoming demo of lounge jazz stuff. I'm particularly interested in hearing the following XD9 swing styles:

Swing
Shuffle Ballad
Orch Slow
Jazz Combo
Fast Swing
Shuffle Blues
Bebop
Jazzman

btw: which of these styles utilize brushes?

Scott,
A few of those swing beats are the ones that use live grooves and won't let you alter the tempo past a certain point. Check with AJ - there was a way to rewrite the pattern into a user location and take out the groove, I think. Then it can handle any tempo. In it's current state - I found it very disturbing to have the tempo switch to a preset rate.
