Hi Dnj,
reads like a really souped up version of the old roland ra & korg i5m arranger modules from years back. Great to see Ketron's at least still making them. ( wish yamaha did)

I used to have my RA95 & korg i5m modules midided to my digital piano. I could have midied it to a controller or synth, but I preferred the piano tones in my digital piano rather than the onboard piano's in the modules.

Back then the midi controller keyboards were designed to control an array of sound modules/synths rather than connect to computers. ( though that was possible too )

I'm wondering if maybe there's 2 types of controllers around. One that's mainly designed to work with softsynths & computers, and the other original type that was designed to work midi cables & sound modules.

Fatar is a name I remember from way back. http://www.studiologic.net/sl-161pro.html http://www.studiologic.net/sl-990xp.html http://www.studiologic.net/sl-880-pro.html
The sl series sounds more like the type I remember. Note they appear to have 2 midi outs.

Wheras the VM series seems designed more for computer & softsynth applications.

best wishes
Rikki
