I can't figure out why the flash rom 'user memory' remains so pathetically LOW, especially considering how cheap memory is these days. I had hoped that PSR3000 would have included at least 10 mg 'user memory' Flash rom.

Unfortunately, the 'Music Finder' (on the Tyros & all earlier PSRs) cannot access styles located on the hard drive or on floppy. Regretably the current Tyros/PSR Music Finder can only access/load styles from Preset or user memory, so having only 2 MB of 'user memory' severely limits the number of custom styles available.

On the other hand, if the PSR3000 Music Finder is able to access styles stored on Smart Media Card, then the above Music Finder limitation is solved. George or anyone else have the answer to this? - Scott

Boy that PSR-1500 looks nice.. Is that a modulation wheel too Finally Yamaha added the modulation wheel... Plus the poly is good too.. I wonder if they raised the poly because of the voice memory. I guess they added voices that are possible 3 elements or more...

Fran . . . yeah, and even with that, it still provides 6 notes extra polyphony over what you could ever play with 2 hands. - Scott

Another big question is how many watts are we looking at driving those speakers. We all know the PSR 2000/2100 is 12 Watts each. It would be a shame to have all of those new features and Yamaha stick with the same 12 Watt Speakers. The PSR 9000 had 26 Watt each Speakers. It would really be a boon to sales IMO to have at LEAST 26 Watt speakers on the PSR 3000. If they were 50 Watt each people would be tripping over things and trampling on each other and breaking down the doors to buy them. That being of course if they were actually decent quality and excellent sounding. The KN7000 is King when it comes to great sounding onboard speakers. Yamaha can take that prize to themselves if the PSR 3000 provides spell binding awe inspiring great sounding in your face sonic perfection - (close to it hopefully ) - speakers.

Speaking of sonic perfection, I received my Morel MDT tweeters (from partsexpress.com) today and hooked them up to my Pioneer HPM-100 speakers (the BEST speakers EVER to come out of Japan IMO BTW!!) I played some songs through them and once again they are performing just fantastic! PS: If you didn't know the original factory tweeters gave out after being exposed to high Mic feedback. Hopefully I've eliminated any chance of that happening again.

Morel makes super duper speakers and they are one of only a handful of excellent Professional quality high end speaker makers out there. And if you've never auditioned a set of Pioneer HPM-100 speakers in person then you have NO IDEA what I'm talking about. They put other speakers costing 10x as much to shame, literally. If you ever happen to run across a Pair for Sale that are in great shape don't hesitate to snatch 'em up!! You won't be sorry I guarantee. Just remember to Drive them with a quality Power Amplifier. If you Drive them with an underpowered Amp you will almost assuredly ruin them. Oh, and pardon my reveling and boasting about my HPM's but when something so sonically beautiful sounding fills the air it is hard not to SHOUTTTTTT!!!!! about it.

NOTE: The HPM-100's were originally made in the late 1970's and early 80's. They are hard to find nowadays but you can still find them, although not cheap. Unless you just happen to get fortunate. Like I did!!!

Back to the PSR 3000. If they still have the same ol' 12 Watters I for one would think long and hard before I would consider getting one. And during that long and hard contemplation I would probably talk myself out of getting it because of the lack of better sonic quality speakers vs. my PSR 2000's which has 12 Watt speakers already.

Okay I'll shut up, for now.

Best regards,
Mike

puzk: I don't think so. As much as I'd prefer physical sliders too, I'm pretty sure that those are just the same upper/lower toggle type buttons included on the 2100.

Does the PSR3000 replace the PSR2100 and the PSR1500 replace the PSR1100 or are they new models to full the gaps be PSR1100 and PSR2100 and between PSR2100 and Tyros?
