I have seen Tyros-2 keyboard playing live on the stage.I'm very impressed to hear its great voices especially strings, saxophones etc.The sounds are clean and melodious and it's styles are powerful when compared to psr-3000.I thought to buy T2 keyboard but it does not have built in speakers and i'm expecting Tyros T2 sounds in the new psr-3000 replacement keyboard. So can i get T2 sounds?

Only Yamaha knows for sure at this point. I would expect at least some of them, probably not all.

DocZ,

Most of the T2 sounds are also on the PSR-3000. However, there are no SA voices on the 3000, and of course, there are T2 voices that will just sound better because of the higher sample size.

Sunny,

Keep in mind that in order to compare the two keyboards you must compare aples with aples. Were the sounds sytems identical, and were both keyboard's EQs tuned the same. Both are very important when comparing the sounds of keyboards. I've heard some low-end keyboards played by really great performers who made them sound fantastic. The same keyboard in the hands of a mediocre player will sound like crap. Lots of things to consider.

Cheers,

Gary

Hi Gary,
No doubt,psr-3000 has got nice sounds but i'm not fully satisfied with the strings voices because the sounds are somewhat noisy and not clear as that of Tyros-2.Now psr-3000 sounds need to be improved as that of SA voices in the future model.

To complement the info by Gary....besides the new S.A. sounds, there are lots of new Mega sounds too, and do not forget that most of the styles (260 in the PSR3000 vs. 400 in the T2, so it has a lot of new styles with the new voices), and the styles that are similar in the 3000, have been "re-voiced" and re-arranged to show off the T2 sounds. Check the Modern Big band, the Cha-chas (the intro 3 in the organ Cha Cha has a troumpet not available in the 3K), etc, etc.
I made that transition when the T2 came out almost a year ago, a few weeks later I sold my 3K.
Now I am waiting to pair my T2 with the New Korg PA 800, as a former organist, I need 2 boards for my playing style and I prefer 2 arrangers (different brands of course).

When the PSR3000 was introduced it contained more updated voices than the then present Tyros 1.
The next PSR 3XXX could contain even voices + from the next Tyros 3.
The downside is unfortunately it won't make me play any better.
