Hello

I've finally decided to update the os on my Tyros and have been searching all over.

Could someone tell me which is the latest one and where I can find it?

Anything else really major take place with the Tyros in the last several months? I've been out of touch a little, hope someone can update me.

Thanx
Scott

Hi Scott,

Here ya go:
http://www.yamahapkclub.com/vu_tyros/os_ver140/os_verup.htm

OS 1.40 is the latest version and INCLUDES important updates including USB connectivity via Mass Storage mode as well as the bug fix which enables foot controller triggered 'continously repeat' fills while foot pedal is engaged.

Not sure exactly what's going on, but, tonight I was going to upload the new OS, which was there when I first read Scott's answer. It now takes you to a Yamaha site, and I sure can't find that new OS.

I can't find that sucker anywhere. I wonder what's going on?

Anybody know where I can get it now? Was there something wrong with this new OS?

I did find this finally! But, the installation PDF is for version 1.10.

I'll wait until I find out what's going on here.

Scott, interesting to discover that the http://YamahaPKClub.com website is down (or no longer in existence?!) and now automatically links to http://music.yamaha.com/

I just checked & the link you provided: http://www.yamaha-europe.com/yamaha_euro....php?country=uk

and it DOES include the 1.40 UPDATE. I assume because it's the Yamaha UK site that the Update version is in English that it should work for US Tyros keyboards as well. If you plan to update via Tyros USB connection, scroll down to the bottom of the page to "Tyros OS Ver.1.40 and download the 4.92 MB zip file. If you want to update using floppy disks then scroll to "Tyros OS Ver. 1.40 Disk Version" and download the 5.07 MB zip file. Scott, if you still have trouble, I could send you the 5 Megabyte 1.40 Tyros update (via USB) file directly to you, but I see that you have a Yahoo email address. Does your Yahoo email server accept attachments that are 5+ megabytes in size?

Hi Scott

I'm going to see if my wife, Jen can install it from this site. Maybe the directions with the download are easy enough to follow. But, I do remember the pk club had quite explicit directions on their site. It looked then like a job for Jen.

I'll give this a try, otherwise yes Yahoo mail now gives you 100MB for free. I've got about 30MB free right now, yikes, I've got to clean that thing out.

Thanx
Scott

Hey Scott

Turns out it was easier than I thought. Although I was wondering for a while as on the Tyros screen it said ver 1.00 and the computer said ver 1.10. But at the end the computer said 1.40.

Couldn't remember which two buttons to press on my Tyros to verify what os I now have, but I tried the footswitch fill and sure 'nuff it kept repeating. So it must be the right one.

Thanx Scott

What was the other file called Tyros.usx?

Do I need to do something with that?

Wow, I have to get me a wife like yours....my wife won't even dust my equipment, let alone particpate.

She calls all my practicing on the piano and on drums; "Constant Noise". How's that for encouragement!!

Just 'fargetaboutit' ! (as Donny might say). This is only a temporary file which gets automatically created when you extract the installation file, and can be deleted after installation.

Scott, hope you'll take advantage of the footpedal activated 'continuous repeating fill' now included with 1.40, thanks only to my 'unrelenting pressure' on Yamaha to finally convince them to reimplement 'an essential' arranger kb feature.

Thanx that fill is nice. Now all we've got to do is get them to make the TRS-H1 music rack and speaker brackets available to the US Tyros owners.

All I need is 2, as I don't use the Tyros speakers. Anybody have an extra 2 available?

Scott L - You can get the TRS-H1 brackets from one of 3 web sites in Germany - I got mine from the Rock Shop there as they deliver internationally for only 10 Euros. Unfortunatally your dollar is quite weak against the Euro at the moment but they are still quite inexpensive and are definately worth it.

Hi KFingers

How long ago did you get yours?

It seems to me that I emailed them for info if they were in stock and how much, but didn't receive an answer.
