Hi José.

Another portuguese José here! As many of the members in this board know, I don't like step into this "best keyboard" race. For a simple reason: I'm pretty convinced there's no "best keyboard". In their own ways, my previous and my present arranger keyboard have served me very well. I'm aware of their weaknesses and their strengths and choose them according to my needs. I presently have a Tyros, but had a Ketron/Solton and a Roland in the past. I can tell you why I like my Tyros: very friendly OS, full of features, great factory styles (and huge choice of free styles available in online Yamaha communities), excellent audio quality, nearly ideal size/weight for gigs. It inspires my playing and my live acts, and that is the most important issue: the thing you should look for is the best match between you and your playing style and needs, and the instrument capabilities. It's very important that, if possible, you spend some time playing both the G-70 and the Tyros, or at least you both leasurely go through the manuals, and read as much as you can on the internet forums (and this is, in my opinion, the best place to do it). Reading different opinions about the keyboards and knowing well the personalities, musical background and playing/gigging needs of each of the opinionators, you can have a pretty accurate idea of what can be best for you. I insist: give up looking for the "best" keyboard; instead try to know or to guess from all the info around which one makes you happier.

E-mail me if you need further help in portuguese!

-- José.

Thanks, Router

We never get the best, I know. And I've made my mind - Tyros (actual and not T2).
It's more than enough for me and I believe that I'm gonna spend many and many funny hours around it.
I'll put my hands on it on July 18th. I just can't wait anymore.
"See" you all.

One of us must be the wise one! Imagine that the other José loves to tweak sounds and styles... then he should choose Roland!

Josè,
could you post again a picture of your setup? Also, since I am looking for an 88 notes weighted keyboard, what is your opinion about the Kurzweil PC2X? (I am asking because you are a Kurzweil owner, if I remember correctly).
