In these times of strife, filled with horror stories of people losing their loved ones, a WALTZ that I recently wrote with another songwriter (yes I know, waltzes are old-fashioned and all), kind of brought back some old-time values into my musical life. Its about the probable sentiments felt by couples who manage to stay by each others' side their entire lives, remaining true to their wedding vows, a real rarity nowadays.

Plus you get to hear what the Country Waltz style from the Yamaha PSR740 sounds like:

Words:

When The leaves Turn To Gold ©2001
Charles Wong - Music
Glen King - Lyrics

Here we are at the end of our summer days
Looking back through the glow of that fading blaze
And though we both know the nights will grow cold
I'll be here When The Leaves Turn To Gold

Autumn winds kiss our skin, and all too soon
We will dream by the light of a harvest moon
You won't need to wish for someone to hold
I'll be here When The Leaves Turn To Gold

BRIDGE
This chill means October is coming
With all of its chances for storms
And some nights the frost will be numbing
But we'll build a fire and stay warm

Then, we'll put on a waltz like we used to do
Let that sweet music lead us around the room
As long as we dance our hearts won't grow old
I'll be here, When The Leaves Turn To Gold
I'll be here When The Leaves Turn To Gold

Waltzes always seem to pack the dance floors too, especially with more mature crowds.

Thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time to listen.

Charlie: Yet another great song written by you. What a terrific Anniversary Waltz. I hope you might allow me to perform this for an upcoming Wedding Anniversay party. Thanks for sharing your talents. - Scott

Great work Charlie! I really feel the warmth and passion from this song, and it really brings people together, especially from a time like this. Your last song "Tell me" was melancholy yet romantic, and I really enjoy listening and playing it. Thank you for sharing the songs, and I look forward to hearing more from you!

Michael

Scott,

Everything I write is copyrighted either by myself or my co-writer in the case of a collaboration like this one, so yes, anything I post here you are absolutely welcome to perform, the mroe exposure the better. Let me know by e-mail what you might need as far as midi files or chords or whatever. But knowing you and your talent, you probably had all you need to replicate the song on stage just by what is here.

Mikey,

Your kind words and encouragement mean a lot to me. Thank you.

Thanks Uncle Dave -- and just for your and everyone else's information, the lyricists over at JPF have been writing the bejeezus out of new songs about the terrible tragedies. They needed to get the emotions and sentiments out of their hearts -- and they are ALL LOOKING FOR MUSIC!!! Any takers?
