Hi Donny,
that's an interesting little item, a ketron soundmodule.

Any idea of a release date. Might make a good soundsource for laptop/omb styles.

Interesting that they called it an sd2.

best wishes
Rikki

Hi,
apparently it's a pocket sized sound module
I found info at http://www.ketron.it/news/index.asp?idNews=18

If the sounds are similar to the sd1, it would give me the opportunity to tweak my omb styles and use them either with the sd1 at home or have the portability of the sd2/omb/laptop setup. Also saves me trying to convert all my yammie styles to ketron format.

best wishes
Rikki

Hi Folks,
Directly from the horses mouth (or rather Ketron's website ) .......

The Ketron Orchestral Wizard (SD2) is a pocket size sound module designed for all PC, Midi applications and recording use. Equipped with the same sound engine found in the new Ketron SD5 keyboard, the SD2 has all the latest features for recording, programming and live performances, featuring a New Stereo Grand Piano and huge Orchestral voices such as Saxophones, Brass, Woodwinds, authentic Guitars , Accordions and many others. The quality of these instrumental voices (following the traditional Ketron Best Natural sound heritage) is a remarkable advantage of having the SD2, especially when stacked against other competitors. In addition, the SD2 includes very distinctive Audio Drum and Percussion Loops selected from Slow, Jazz, Latin, Acoustic, Traditional, and Dance styles. Used in conjunction with a Computer, Master keyboard, Midi accordion or Midi guitar, the SD2 offers an “all- in- one” great sound resource that can be used to greatly enhance standard Midi files, or for Home or studio compositions and recordings. It’s Midi capability permits it to control up to 32 Midi channels and DSP effects such as Reverb, Chorus, Delay and Distortion. Beyond the exceptional and advanced musical quality and very compact pocket-size, the Orchestral Wizard also comes with …you’ve got it - a break through price!!

Specifications:
Sound Generation : Stereo Grand Piano, 290 Orchestral Presets Sounds. 292 GM Voices. More than 1000 Percussive sounds. 32 parts Multi timbral.
Drum 1 : 24 New Drum sets .
Drum 2 : 62 Live Drum sets., featuring Acoustic, Latin and Dance audio Loops.
Effects : Multi effect DSP. Reverb, Chorus, Delay, Distortion, Rotor Slow/Fast.
MIDI : In, Thru. 32 Midi Channels. GM standard.
Outputs : Stereo headphones, Mini jack out.
Volume : Volume Slider
Dimensions : L x W x H = (12 x 13 x 4 cms.) (4.8 x 5.2x 1.6 inches).
Weight : 0.6 Kg. (1.32 lbs)
Power : External 12 Volts Power supply
Specifications and appearances are subject to change without notice.

Sounds good to me! Could not find a price but would be very interested to know!
Best wishes
Tony

I don't see any usb ports or firewire.

Probably you'll have to use a MIDI/USB interface..
