XD3 vs X4 ?

XD3 navigation will be the 1st thing you noitce . On the X4 ...all styles are listed .
All sounds are in categorys .
With XD3 you will have to look more into the screen . Access styles/sounds via the function buttons on side of screen .

NAVIGATION different !

XD3/XD9 will allow you to syncipate a arrangement drum track to a midi sequence .

FYI ........my brother + sister arranger friends ! dano

Eric,
The Ketron distributor in the USA says prices will be known on or around July 1. Other differences will be no 16 track sequencer and no sampler in the XD3 as there is in the X4. The sequencer in the XD3 is a one track direct to disk sequencer. This is like the sequencer in the MS40 module from several years ago.
In the information Dnj posted I don't see anything about registration memories. I would be surprised if this wasn't included because every Solton/Ketron product has registration memories. Maybe AJ can answer this.

I can't figure out all the differences in the XD9 and the Vega, other than the very obvious ones.

The new KETRON XD-series will be replacing the renoun MS-series keyboards and modules.

George Kaye,
You're right. The XD3/9 does have 198 Block Registration memories & the capacity to have 999 per optional HD folder or within the FD.

Tonkan.
The XD9/VEGA does have aftertouch (and this is also supported in the XD3)- which will be programmable in later OS.

Eric, B, the differences include;
* There are more live loops within the XD3 than the X4.
* There are more sounds on the XD3 units and a better sound generation engine.
* Navigation on the XD3 series is sceen dependent, whereas on the X4, it was panel dependend (sounds and styles selection).
* There is a 150,000 note sequencer standard on the X4 (expandable to 300,000 notes),where-as there is no sequencer on the XD3.
* There is a SAMPLER on the X4. XD3 does not have a sampler.
* XD3 has more of the less-live features in menus (PLAY & LEFT MENU controls) leaving the board less cluttered and easier for use.
* XD3 has a new Drum Mix feature (not found on the X4) which allows for total replacement of MIDIfile drums with live/standard XD3 drums.

... plus much more features which will soon be released.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

AJ

AJ,
Sorry I called you at your gig yesterday! But I thought I would get back to you and let you know I was successful at using the Ketron Software downloaded from their website to plug the X1 and SD1 directly to my computer's hard drive, then allowing me to view all the files on my SD1/X1's hard drive, copy it, change the order, etc. into the computers hard drive and then sending it back to the same SD1/X1's hard drive or any other Ketron keyboards hard drive. I love this feature. No more having to use floppy's to back up everything and load when I receive new keyboards. The directions on the website were easy to follow. If anyone hasn't tried this yet, all you need is the Ketron PC connecting cable which sells for about $20.00.
