Where and when were the 4000, 5700, 6000 and 7000 available? Honestly, I've never seen or heard of them before.

hi the 4000 series was a top end studio designed keyboard which you could put programmed disks into it, you can still get the disks for them with lots of pre prog sounds on it or you could programm your own onto.. when they came out i dont know for sure i have had mine for about 2 years ,, i was thinking of becomeing one of those bedroom musions , however im crap at makeing music and it was a short lived hobby..if you go to google and type in psr 4000 hamaha keyboard you will find lots of info..

Cass,
According to this Yamaha "manual library" link, it looks like the PSR-4000 might have been introduced (into the scheme of things) around 1995.

Yamaha Manual Lib

Don't know who/where they were sold though.
Dear answer man (George Kaye) where are you...

I had a PSR 4000 between 1996 and 1998. I bought it brand new directly from Yamaha (stores didn't carry it ... Yamaha in LA had a couple b-stocks laying around) and when I got a PSR 9000 in 1998, I gave away the 4000. The 4000 was the "smaller brother" of the 8000. One of the nice things it had was scroll wheels beneath the screen, instead of the up-down buttons on the other PSRs.
