I still can't believe you're getting a mac. ...But if your folks are helping you pay for it that's awesome.

cheers,

Not any iMac though. imac 24. You'd still need to put in a 256MB graphics card and bump up the RAM to at least 2GB.

...BUt otherwise it's smokin'.

Actually scratch that. One of the new 20-inch imacs would do nicely. Still, try to go with the higher specs 20-inch model since it has nicer graphics hardware. Since you're going to work with video you might as well invest in a better graphics card.

cheers,

Hey everyone! Well I have decided to stick with a PC instead of buying a Mac. Only because I have worked with a PC for so long, that I have grown accustome to them. Also they are a heck of a lot cheaper then a Mac. The advantge with a PC for me at least, is that I only need to replace the CPU tower. Since I still have a decent monitor. Also I won't have to move my websites, or change my emial address' or get a new ISP server. I know the Mac, can do a whole lot, and they do have their own advantages, but a PC, is just easier for me.

Wise decision Paul. I don't see how buying the Mac ties in with you having to replace your ISP server and e-mail adress though. I can access any of my e-mail accounts and internet service from all of my Macs and PCs.

PS,
If you are planning on doing graphics you might need a better graphics card too. Which one do you have now?

NVIDIA GeForce 4 MX graphics with 64MB DDR Shared video memeory.

My PC is 5 years old, so my grphics card is limited.

BTW: I won't be getting into graphics illustartion. I was getting frustrated with the course and software, by the second class. I have a hard time translateing an image from paper to a computer. I do better, from imagies in my head. Plus I was feeling to resrticted. I can not be creative with resrcitons.

I'm going to have to think of something else, carrere wise.
