I had a psr2100 and sold it, I never used all the functions it had. I loved the sound quality right out of the speakers (12watts i believe) so now I am looking for something that has great piano sound, with some good strings and organs. thats about all I need. I considered a psr 550 but am not sure if i can live with the speakers. I have a couple of guitar amps 12 inch at 30 watts. I am not sure how they will work for keyboards though and the psr 550 has only a headphone jack.
I am also considering a low end synth since i don't need all the arranger gadgets, maybe something like a used Qs6.1 or .2 how do these type synths compare to a psr 550's tones? What else should i consider in that price range?

Let me get your post straight.

You liked PSR2100. However, you sold it because you did not utilize all the functions and you bought PSR550 for probably half of the price. You found that its sounds are adequate but the speaker is not. So you are looking for a keyboard, it does not have to be an arranger, with decent quality of sounds at least like PSR550 with good speakers and the same price as PSR550. Or you want a synth with the same price range that will work with the couple 12inch amps.

It seems to me that PSR2100 was a perfect fit. Also have you considered the following:

NO NO I have not bought another keyboard since the 2100, I am only considering a psr550 but also considering going the route of a synth because the sounds may be better with a synth. What do you all suggest since i don't need all the arranger functions. also i do not really want weighted keys. Thanks
