My wife, Susan, went for a Colonoscopy Wednesday. They found a cancerous tumor and she will undergo surgery Friday to remove it, along with a part of the colon.
At that time they will also remove surrounding tissue and examine other organs to see if it has spread. If it has not spread, of course the prognosis is great for a complete recovery.
I know some of you have been through this type of thing and came through it fine. We're praying that she will too.
I'll keep you posted.
Don

Don,
My Dad had the same thing happen in 2001, so I know how you feel. Helpless, lost ... just keep your faith and stay by her side.
I have some issues that need looking into myself ... one being the same test, so I'll be with you in spirit all the way.

Thanks to everyone for the prayers and good wishes. We will leave for the hospital at 7:00. Surgery should be sometime before noon.

Don, if the rest of your and Susan's friends are as good and sincere as those here on the SZ, heaven will be filled with prayers for Susan. My prayers today will certainly include the two of you. May God bless you both.

Friends,
Thank you for your concern and prayers.
We made it through the surgery o.k. She got out of recovery about 4:00 p.m. The outcome was as good as we could hope for at this point, although she is in some degree of pain.
There was no visible signs that the cancer had spread. The liver looked o.k.
There was a small cyst on one ovary, so they removed that also. It appeared to be just a small benign cyst.
They will test the lymph glands to see if they were affected and will know the results Tuesday.
Susan's sister is spending the night at the hospital, as I have to work.
Again, thanks for your support.
Don

Just go back from the hospital. She is up and walking and feeling somewhat better. Of course she is still quite worried about seeing the test results Tuesday, as am I.
Nothing but clear liquids until Monday. That will make 7 days since she has eaten anything!
I printed all your good wishes and took them to her. She read each of them and asked me to tell you how much she appreciates the support.
Although she doesn't post, she always reads the Synthzone forum.
Gotta get some sleep and go back to the hospital in the morning.
Thanks,
Don

Friends,
Just a quick update--the Doctor just made his visit. She is off pain medication and has the catheter removed. Still can't have solid foods.
We are still waiting until tomorrow to hear what stage the cancer is in. Doctor said it did not spread to the liver or lungs, which are the most likely places after lymph nodes. We'll know about the lyph nodes tomorrow evening.
Thanks,
Don

I just brought Susan home from the hospital. She is already asleep in her OWN bed for a change. She is still pretty sore, but overall feeling o.k.
She will begin chemotherapy in about a month.
My van is completely filled with flowers than were sent to the hospital. She had well over a hundred visitors while there. I'm not letting anybody in here until she is ready.
Thanks for all the help!!

Hi Don,
I have not been in the bar for quite a while and had not known, until now of this situation.
I also include her in my prayers for continued improvement in her health. I believe not only in the power of prayer, but also that it multiplies expotentially with more and more praying for her.
This forum is full of wonderful caring people.
