Johnny Carson dies at 79..The best comedian of our time,,even when he delivered a bomb in his monologe, he pulled it off with his "look", on the Tonight show..

Great personality, and a pretty good drummer, too!

To make matters worse, look what's on the Tonight Show horizon... Conan O'Brien

Bummer!

Haven't watched the Tonight Show much since Johnny retired. Usually I'm working, and only have 500 or so alternative programs to choose from anyway.
I'm not much of a Sinatra fan, although I like many of his songs (I know that's heresy), but I loved Johnny C. What a talent, and such a great loss.

Johnny was a great talent. IMHO none of the present day hosts can begin to compare with him.

Johnny was one of a kind and revered in the industry as well as the majority of households in the USA.

Conan motivates me....to change channels or go to bed.

Even I can remember him.

I thought he launched a lot of artists who became well known after their appearance in his shows.
Or am I wrong?

I've got the tape of Dean Martin's Roast of Johnny Carson....it's great to watch.
I too have missed him since he left the Tonight Show. btw: whatever happened to Doc Severenson?...just curious.
