I will be away for the next couple of days as I am playing with my band Red Rhythm at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. It should be a fun gig. We are playing poolside at the MGM because that is being closed off for the convention party we are playing for. It is for a group of California Real Estate companies so we were thinking maybe should start the set with Dire Straits "Money For Nothing".

Nigel, welcome to the bright lights of Vegas. Sounds like a terrific gig. Don't forget to take pics and share them with us. "Break a Leg", but keep on playing. I bet I know where Kerry will be. Hope you guys return to Ventura with LOTS of big winnings.

Hey there buddy, don't let the machines and tables eat up your earnings. They don't build those big palaces because they like to give away money.

Vegas, you say...I'm jealous! In nearly 50 years of playing, I never made it there!

Way to go!

Whew, I'm back again. We had a great time. We played by the pool at the MGM that was closed off for the private party. You just can't beat playing in the evening outdoors at the foot of a major casino with the Las Vegas skyline surounding you. Viva Las Vegas !!!!

My wife Kerry was there and shot a couple of short AVI clips with her digital camera. Here are clips from Hurts So Good and Is She Really Going Out With Him

And the party loved it and we are going back next year to play the same convention.

Good stuff Nigel - Haven't heard that old Joe Jackson song in quite a while - I think I'll look up the words and music.

You look like you had a lot of fun - well done making it back in one piece...

Nigel . . . Bravo! Terrific outdoor Las Vegas venue, Impressive stage lighting. A wonderful backdrop to your band's terrific classic rock sound. You guys ROCK!

Nigel, I didn't recognize you as being one of the two guitarists (left side of stage).
Ok, I noticed 2 keyboards on stage. Nigel, is that 'you' playing the one on the far right? I hear organ pads being played. Curious what keyboard sounds/parts you and the other keyboardist played/shared?

Special thanks to Kerry for taking & sharing the video. Btw: Did you guys bring Ollie along to this memorable party bash as well?

Yeah we really had a ball playing there outside by the pool at the MGM. And they gave us all suites at the Venetian which was very roomy and comfortable. First time I've ever stayed in a suite when I've been in Vegas.

Scott: Yes I am over the other side behind the keyboard. Lynn our female singer in front is a great keyboard player. She uses a really lowend Yamaha PSR but she can make it sound very good. When she isn't singing lead vocal she often handles keyboard parts and is really good at brass lines, pads and electric piano parts. It is very good to have a second keyboard player because it means she can cover for me when I am playing second lead/rhythm guitar. She also has an original duo playing around LA called "Davison/Coleman" She is a very talented woman, a Doctor of Psychology plus she's great to work with.

And AJ ( Bluezplayer ), you can see your old Motif 6 close up and see that I am treating it well and putting it to good use in
http://www.synthzone.com/clips/StopDraggin_1.AVI and http://www.synthzone.com/clips/LoveSneakin_1.AVI

They maybe a little keyboard heavy just because they were taken by Kerry's digital camera ( with inbuilt mic ) near my keyboard amp.

And Tom I made it home with most of my shirt .... just missing the sleeves that's all
