How can I take a preset variation pattern ( from banks L-Q on the Mc-303 )and modify it? I want to re-work a preset variation pattern and drop it into the L bank, but I keep getting the ERROR 8 message.Is this possible? I know in the manual it says you have to work off of the original, but I can't find the original pattern. I am trying to modify pattern n43, and pattern P43. Thanks a million. - Merriphew

--------------
>>>> you cannot modify a variation pattern ! they are in fact allready modif of preset or user pattern, but not really patterns themselves ( only modif of mute and so long, but no musical datas!)

I want to re-work a preset variation pattern and drop it into the L bank, but I keep getting the ERROR 8 message.

>>> you cannot copy it = in fact there is nothing in it to copy!

Is this possible? I know in the manual it says you have to work off of the original, but I can't find the original pattern.
-------------------
>>> you must check all the pattern to find out which is the Original one...try first all the patterns with the same number "extensions" in your case 43

I am trying to modify pattern n43, and pattern P43.

Thanks a million. >>>>>>really ?

Merriphew,

In case you still haven't found them:

The default mapping is:

n43 -> B49
P43 -> A11

There is no way to "request" this info from MC-303 machine itself. (official ansver, gotten from Roland tech. support).

Hi Pikk, I'm in need of your consulting services once again. Do you know the variation pattern for P18? Thanks in advance for any help.
