I've been lookin around for a keyboard with built in sampling, effects, and drum loop production to make techno type music. I've been considering the eg-101 or the jx-305 but some people on here have been acting like the eg-101 isnt that good or something and I have read reviews saying the jx-305 isnt that bad but I really need built in sampling which the eg-101 has. Would it be to my advantage to get an external sampler and just run it through the jx-305? I dont wanna spend a load of money on a Korg Triton or something like that which I've read mixed reviews on. What would you guys suggest?

Donīt even think about buying eg101...The sampler in it is totally crap and sounds are quite boring...Buy Jx-305 and some sampler like Akai S2000 and then you will be able to make some good stuff...

This is probably off topic but can anyone reccomend a sampler in the sub 1000 price range?
If I am going to shell out ~$1500 for a jx305 I'd rather spend the least amount on a sampler as I can but still get something more than lets say a Yamaha SU10 (Limited memory)

you can add an extra $850 to your budget for a sampler because zzounds.com has got the jx for $650. i love my jx but its not worth 1500.

Musician's friend has an ESI sampler from emu for real cheap. Here's the link: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/cgi-bin/shop.dll/9911196151521731191194133674410?advsearch

Ok, the link didn't work, so just search for ESI on their website, it'll come up.

Do you own a MC-505 or JX-305? Guess what?

SMARTMEDIA cards (4mb@5v) for $12.00 (USD)!!!!

go to the following web site:
http://microsidecorp.net/mside/smarmem.html

I own and use a JX-305 (paid $699 :>) and wanted to expand my card memory and have backups as well. $12.00 (USD) for a 4MB/5V smartmedia card cannot be touched.
