Yes, Russ is checking out rates for me this afternoon (he called last night from an airport somewhere ).

Preliminarily, I plugged in the approximate weight and dimensions from Ohio to Australia (but I didn't have your address, so I just chose a city - I know, it's a large area!) and it was around $700 or so. I lost a little hope at that point, but I'll have an answer for you tonight.

I'd like to sell you the board for sure and just buy what I want.

I want you to know that I would prefer to swap my G70 for the PA800 with Bernie as first priority. Keeping a local transaction is better and I'm still not convinced the shipping would be affordable.

I'm waiting for Bernie's response. If it falls through, I'll pursue different shippers for quotes.

Hopefully, this will happen in the next day or two.

No problem, I am not interested anymore anyway. I had a feeling you were going to swing that way when I saw your second listing. I would have let you know sooner, its just we have had no telephone service for a day and a half as someone cut through the main fibre-optic cable with a backhoe.

I don't think so unless you call Zuki's a smirk, and I know he wouldn't do that.

Bernie, in the post above dnj's, Zuki's is a smile, dnj's is a wink all by itself..sort of implies a "told you so" comment.When he could have simply just placed a smilie, which would have indicated "alls well that ends well"..

I can understand you defending this as you were the one who got the good end of this transaction, so good luck to you.

I won't be looking to deal with anyone on this forum again.

This is the third time a possible deal has fallen through, and not through anything I have done but I am now suspecting some things going on in the background, which is cool,if thats the way people want to play the game.

If I could do over with, I would've held out for you if I'd known you might be upset at my direction.

I still think it was way too much to ship. It cost me $257 just to ship it to Florida today. Ouch! I can believe the original $780 quote to Australia and you were going to pay freight too!

That board is as big and heavy as a spinet - (the only thing I agree with Diki about) ughh...I could hardly lift it from the ground in a GK76.

Zuki,please don't misunderstand, I am in no way upset with you at all.

Business is business and you have to do what is best for you in the long run.

In Australia at the moment the best price I can get on the G70 is $4400, so the $2300 US (at current exchange rates about $2550 plus a few hundred in shipping was still way in front of the best deal out here.

It's why I made the query in the first place. I already had an idea it would be about that much money to ship.
I thought Russ might have been in a position to help out, considering I was talking with him some time back about swapping my sd1+ for his g70.
It was at that time he mentioned he ships to Australia all the time.

I was sorta hoping if he had a shipping account and was prepared to let us use it, it would have made it quite a deal cheaper as out here people with accounts usually get shipping at a rate about 45% less than "off the street" customers.

As it turned out you got yourself a better deal, and we didn't need to even ask him.

It is all good. It's just one that got away.

As I said I might just wait until the new Roland arranger later this year and see what it has.

PS: The comment about not dealing with people on the forum anymore has nothing to do with integrity or character, just that it seems to usually work out being a major P.I.A. because of the vast distance between here and there.

What about eBay? There are tons of G70's on there for $2200 or so. Maybe I could help you in some way through eBay? Perhaps I could buy one and then ship it to you once received.

Thanks for that offer Zuki, it's very generous.
And it IS very tempting, but I think I will still stick with my decision to wait for the new Roland board and see what it offers.
Of course the upside is that when it's released all the g70 prices will drop dramatically, so if the new one isn't up to scratch, I can hook up with one then.
