Hey hey.............I was going to buy a PSR550 until I heard and played with a PSR1000. I like 4 style variations, the extra intros and endings too. So I'm saving some more cash to buy one........Then someone says "For a few bucks more ($200) you can get the 2000"
Is the PSR2000 worth the extra bucks? Are those organ drawbars worth the extra money? All comments welcome. Thanks -- CHARLEY

The big advantage of the 2000 over the 1000 is the amount of available memory. This will permit you to store more than twice the amount of user files, thereby providing you with greater flexibility and ease of access. After trying both, the 2000 got the nod from me and lots of other professional entertainers.

You also get more instruments and styles, 4 DSPs instead of one, Organ Flutes which gives you the ability to simulate a Hammond, and Vocal Harmony (to name but a few). Well worth the extra bucks.

Friend,

I too went to buy the 550 but ended with the PSR-2000.

Dont think twice buy the 2000. Nothing like it. Organ flutes are simply great and the vocal harmony is simply out of the world.

You wont regret your purchase

Bye

I have the PSR-550, and it's not a bad board, but I agree with everyone here. If you got the funds, buy the PSR-2000.. It is a much better board. I would have bought one, but my funds would only allow me to get the 550...

Thanks all......I'm trying my best to be patient, but won't have the cash to buy one until after the holidays. As long as I don't see a PSR 9000 I'll be OK! I wish I still believed in Santa Claus...........

Another major reason for the 2000 over the 1000 is twice the polyphony. The 2000 has 64 voice polyphony and the 1000 has 32 voice polyphony.
The PSR2000 has a digital EQ and the 1000 does not.
The 2000 has the vocal harmonizer and the notation disply and the 1000 has no vocal harmonizer, no mic input and no notation display.
2000 has a modulation wheel and the 1000 does not.
