GARY MURWAY Does Anyone here do solo/power single work? kaboombahchuck yes -How do you do what you do?
optinone- SOLO, yes, Power work?... probably not, but I don’t know what your talking about either. -1 hour shows ranging from $100 to $350 per hour. I use a midi guitar and a real-time arranger.
Stalker Does anyone here do WHAT? 1 hour shows using a real-time arranger.
tekminus Solo/power single work. Get with the program already -tek What program is that?
optinone Well then, I guess not. However, I am interested in Solo/Power Single. I composed a document that explains the entire how to's. I just assumed that people across the country were already doing this. While talking to people via email I found this was not the case. I got curious and asked....
freddynl mmm... I 'am married quite a while...so No! Different type of solo power single And even If I was not married the answer still wood (would) be No! Again Different type of solo power single
brainiac Solo?.......... Power?.......Single?..........what? Is that like self-love? If you do 4 in a day, YES... I never made this kind of an hourly rate with a band. I can’t say the climax is the same, but it is similar……
WHAT THE HELL IS SOLO/POWER SINGLE WORK? You are correct! Solo and Single are redundant...Maybe it should have been called Power Solo or Power Single. I didn’t invent the name; it is a result of phrases that have morphed over time.
The power part refers to using accompaniment i.e. midi sequence, performance track, real-time arranger as differentiated from playing acoustically.

Gary .... head on over to the general arranger section. That's where you will find the "one man band" type acts. This section is more synth-oriented, and generally frown on auto ANYthing.

Frown upon me all you want. I do do single/power work, but not with an arranger KB, that would be weak. For the record Im quite profecient, my rig could be "hooked up" in about 10 minutes. Ahhh, the miracles of modules.... Soooo, If you woulda asked, "are there any Solo artist of the electronic variety?" I would have said, "yes, definitly" Any further questions?

The arranger is no less a legitimate tool than a drum machine, sequencer, or pre-recorded track. It all depends on what you do with the tool. Please don't take that "arrangers are weak" attitude unless you hear each of the players you are slamming.

I'm using my T3 for sequencing, this in conjunction with my R8(sometimes). I accompany this live on either my SP100 or Ovation 12. Everything from Fleetwood Mac to Eagles, to Billy Joel. Never had any complaints yet, and I'm gigging steady.
Most of the bars and pubs around here aren't hiring bands, it just costs too much, and the odd place that does bring in a band, it's usually some poorly put together garage band and they split $150 four ways.
