hi
I havent posted on here for some time, but I have a situation I could do with some help with .if anybody can.

I have a backing style called 12/8....(presumably based on 4/4)which is perfect for when I play.."send in the Clowns" on my Kn6K.The only problem is......the song changes now and again to 9/8.(3/4???)

In order for me to play along with my wife on an accoustic piano,I think I need to create sequence.......but I cant work out how to make the change from 12/8...to 9/8 in the same sequence, still using the preset style .....or for that matter .making a composer that changes from 12/8 to 9/8.
I'd be real grateful for any suggestions....Many thanks
Bill

Hi Bill
If you have a 9/8 rhythm then you could place the 12/8 in panel memory 1 and the 9/8 in memory 2 and so on so that you can change along with the song - which is a real xxxx to play....
I have got the proper style for it somewhere...

You could use the panel memories to select different time signatures, either with or without the sequencer. Just select the first time signature and save the set-up in Panel Memory 1. Then select the second time signature and save in Panel Memory 2. Then you can use the panel memories with or without the sequencer, to immediately change your time signatures..............

Looks like we were typing at the same time Rog

Hi gents
thanks for your prompt replies.
I 'm still struggling here though.
I dont have a 9/8 style,,,,so can I create one myself from the 12/8 style? It will need to be the same registrations as the 12/8 but for 9/8 time.(If this is possible could you let me know how I would do it? )
If I can do this ,then I can see that using the panel memories will be the way to go.

Do you still have the style for this song Rog.....if so I'd be realy gratefull for a copy.......(I assume it has the changes of time sig in the panel memories).

Id love to get this sorted with your help .cause my wife (jane ) is getting fed up with having to hold on to a pre-determined note for an extra notelength on the bars that are 9/8.....ha -ha
thanks
Bill

Hi Bill T
I've sent you various messages but they add up to failure to find an old floppy disk with the original rhythm on it - I've only got it in KN7000 format which is no use for a KN6000.
Sorry
Rog

Many thanks for your efforts Rog...I appreciate it..pity though.

So I guess I'm back to trying to create a 9/8 style from a 12/8 so I can use the panel memory technique. Anybody got any ideas???

Hi Bill,

I haven't the time to check this out and could be shooting straight from the hip but try putting the 12/8 time in COMPOSER and changing it to 3/4 time or in this case, 9/8 time. Don't change any of the tracks of the style, just the time. It may work. If this doesn't work, there is no reason why you can't play this song totally in 9/8 time.

Hi Bill,

Looks like you are out of luck. There is no way to disable a time signature once it has been done in COMPOSER. I know, it's a bummer. Unless someone can come up with a pattern for you, you will have to do one from scratch in COMPOSER.

If you guys email me the 7000 format style, I should be able to convert it to the 6000 format...and return it to you..
