Hi, the reason is simple, R1, R2 and L are completely different parts to Parts 1 to 16 on the 7k and therefore you would not expect them to change. There is a GM playback mode where you can choose whether to have R1, R2 and L as Parts 1 to 3 or not, but panel memories are not a GM function since nowhere in the GM spec. The 7k has increased polyphony and one of the advantages is to play R1, R2 and L direct as separate parts on top of any 16 track
midi.

Thanks, guys for all your valued comments and expertise.

I did find out that when the Part Setting 1-16 is set to OFF, you have to save your final Volume setting in Part Setting ONLY and then Panel Write. It will keep the setting in the Sequencer. You don't have to set it in a Panel Memory. There is so much mystery in our fine KN7000 keyboards.
