Last week before I came home from our last trip, I bought a 128 Mg SD card PNY Technologies from Best Buy Chain Store for 14.99 USD. I am not sure if that sale is stil open or not at this time. These cards are coming down a lot now.
It doesn't look like Yamaha is going to use them. I don't think Roland is either. My camera, my printer and my Technics Kn7000 and Kn2600 all use them but nothing else in here. OH wait the new Toshiba Laptop has a slot for sd but have not tried it yet.

Hi Tony,
I haven't tried the 512MB PQI card but I bought a 64MB version, by the same manufacturer, some time ago and have not experienced any problems.
If the card bears the genuine 'SD' logo and is from a reputable manufacturer, then it should be compatible with all SD devices. Multi-Media cards, which look the same as the SD cards, but do not bear the 'SD' logo and have a connector pin missing, are not 100% compatible.
Is anyone else using a PQI SD card??

Hello All,

Due to ISP problems I have been off line a few times this week. In this discussion about SD Card and prices of these devices going down I like to tell you that it sounds great for us too. Because especially when you have several SD Cards, our tool is great for managing them.

See http://kn-sdexplorer.has.it for details, FAQ, tutorial and more.

Regarding our tool I have bad news and good news.
The bad news is that we still didn't manage to make it Windows 98 compatible. Since file handling is core functionality in an operating system and since Microsoft doesn't support Win98 anymore and has no proper documentation. Hopefully via forums at MSDN etc we hope to get a solution one day.
The good news is that PayPal works fine lately. I have a premier account for which I pay a modest fee. But the advantage for customers is that they can easily pay via PayPal with a credit card (no need to take a PayPal account !!)

Anyone interested in the new 1 GB SD card may want to check out this site. They're advertising the 1G at $58.00 (USD) after rebate. This is amazingly cheap for that amount of memory.

Hi all,
I constate good prices for large memories, but I wonder if one need large memories as e.g. 1 GB or 512MB?
For instance I have a 128 & 256 MB card. The 128 is too smal for the KN7. My 256 is almost completely full (at this moment 95 maps), so I guess a 256MB is the most ideal memorycard for a KN7??
Be it that I don't use mp3 on the card for playback throught the KN7.
To my opinion that's the only reason to obtain 512 or 1000 MB cards?
Just wondering if there are KN7 owners who uses 256MB cards who have experienced that this card is too small for the KN7???
Just my 0,0002 megabites-thoughts .

Hi Cees
I find the 256 the best. Not too small, but not so large to be a waste with 99 file limitation.

Interesting Statistics..........

Flash Forecast
According to research firm IDC, flash memory card sales will increase from about 100 million units this year to 315 million annually in 2007. Secure Digital and miniSD cards will own more than half the market in 2007, followed by the Memory Stick formats. CompactFlash, the leader at the turn of the decade, will slide in sales, and Smart-Media will virtually disappear.
