Okay...here's the situation.
I have a T3 which I use extensively at all gigs.
Hey...I know it's an older unit...but it's a dream to play.
Anyway...my question is..Is it theoretically possible to substitute the 3 push buttons for Combi/Bank A & Bank B with a three way toggle? Is it electronically possible (in theory)? I ask only because the buttons can wear very easily.
Thanx...in advance....

Hey Shboom,
Using cool old Korg keys is only commendable and just as common as using any other vintage synth.
I still own an O1/W and the buttons on that are okay. For now.

In your case you’re better off replacing the buttons with the buttons by some other manufacturer. It has been done and it doesn’t cost as much as replacing the buttons with the toggle switch (which for some models can mean a major surgery).
I’ve seen several posts on this issue at Yahoo O1/W Users forum. . I can’t recall the details of the process so you’re better off posting a question or doing a search in either O1/W or M/T Korg Yahoo forums.

Good luck.

hey shhboom...Just FYI if you ever wanted, you can put silent switching in old keyboards by use of FET's. Something like a Moto 2N23609. Something like that...not sure as I dont have a cookbook within reach, sorry, Id get up for the book, but I had sugar earlier, which has worn off, and I need a forklift to get out of this chair. Hell, I may even sleep here in this chair tonight. You can use all the original switch hardware no matter how scratchy they are. A couple caps and resistors along with the chip for a circuit about the size of a quarter that switches 4 to (and/or & -/+)1,2,3,4. in total silence. It's a 24 pin I think. Great for pedals too (circuit can fit inside the pedal!)and little boxes that do strange things.
