Is there a better way to add and then save Fill Ins to a sequenced song?

The way I do it now is
Sequencer >
Step Record >
CTL >
Then insert fill ins by selecting a measure and moving the cursor and hopefully hit the correct spot to add the fill in, by clicking a fill in button.

Its trial and error and not very accurate.

Thanks for your help

Fill Ins to a sequenced song?

Hi, I add the drums fills with the foot pedal as I'm playing . Then I sit pad and pencil in hand and replay the sequence. I jot down the bar number whenever I feel there should be anothere fill-in. Then I go to step-record in control and add the fills at the bar numbers I had written down. It is always possible to remove the fill-ins I do not like.

I might do this a few times if the sequence is important to me.
Have fun, John C.

Hi Larry,

I assign fillins to my sequenced songs as follows:

First I use Track 4 as a "CHD" track so I can assign all the chords to the song, ahead of time, so I don't have to play them during recording.

To assign a fill-in I go to:

Program Menus
Sequence
Record and Edit
Step Record
Chd - Track 4

I then click on Fill 1 or Fill 2 button and can assign the fill in to any beat in any measure that has a chord assigned (to that beat)

This works best for me with no problems.

Hope this helps.

Larry

Thanks for your tips. From that I now edit Fill Ins this way:

1. Sequencer
2. Realtime Record
3. Drm
4. Click Start, and enter a Drum Beat(s) on your keyboard at the exact moment(s) you want a Fill In
6. Exit
7. Sequencer
8. Edit
9. Note Edit
10.Drm
Move the cursor. You will see and hear the drum beat(s) you entered
11. Write down the exact measure(s) of the drum beat(s) you entered (Example: 30.4.48)
12. Exit
13. Step Record
15 CTL Record
16. Move to Measure 30.4.48 and click the Fill In 1 or Fill In 2 button. Move to the next drum beat that you wrote down and again click a Fill In .
Click Sequencer to Save and Exit .
Play the song and the Fill Ins are inserted Perfectly

Thanks
