Ok, first let me say, I'm PC ignorant and just learning to play the keyboard. I use the one finger chord. I do have a background in music (reeds). Now the question:
I have a KN7000. I also have several disks from a KN1000 that I would like to play on the 7000. Is that possible? If it is can you give me step by step instructions and tell me the equipment I need to do it. I feel way out of my league here, with all you experienced keyboarders, I don't understand 75% of the stuff you're talking about but I trying to learn. Thanks.

Hello,

If you are referring to songs done on a KN1000, they will first have to be loaded into a KN2000 and then you will be able to bring them up in your KN7000. These are sequenced songs I am talking about. If you have saved a bunch of styles from the KN1000, then all you need to do is use your STYLE CONVERT DISK and then put your KN1000 disk in. This is no easy matter because your styles will be in COMPOSER (A,B & C RECORDING MEMORY) and scattered in different variations. You might find an INTRO in and ENDING or vice versa. It is a maddening experience and you have to go to all recording memories to find the variations. Also there will definitely have to be a lot of tweaking to correct these styles.

You're right KN7 - I too wonder just what exactly is on those disks...
Members of our club bring along disks sometimes which turn out to be full of midi files for example, when they thought they were rhythm disks to be used to play with...
If you wish jp you can send me the contents of one of the disks and I'll find out what's on it and convert it for Kn7000 use - RMepstead@btinternet.com

Hi there jpindorski

Get in touch with your dealer and ask them for the ‘Technics Style Convert Disk’, for the SX-KN7000.

On the disk it will give you:

Gem_WS2
Gem_WX2
Korg
Roland
Solton
Technics

This converts the KN1000/750 disk to your KN7000

Yours musically
