Can anyone tell me the difference in the "Fingering Mode" between the KN2000 and the 7000 for the "One Finger" verses the "Basic" fingering? Is it essentially the same? The 2000 has "One" finger, the 7000 has "Basic" fingering.

Thanks, Tim

Hi Tim, Fingered mode as you probably know requires at least 3 notes in order to specify the chord.
The Basic mode requires 1 note for a major chord; 2 notes for a minor chord (Root note plus any black key); 2 notes for a 7th chord (Root note plus any white key) PLUS if you play 3 notes or more whilst in Basic mode, it will then produce the same chords as the Fingered mode.

John,

Thanks for the info.... It sounds like the "Fingering Modes" are the same on the Kn2000 & 7000, at least as far as the "Old" "Single Finger" and the "New" "Basic Fingering". I sure hope so, since I am essentially a single finger player with the left hand. And actually with the right hand as well. I guess some people would say I am an Imitation musician, but I sure have a lot of fun playing these automatic keyboards.

I am a little confused.
On the Kn6000 a "single finger" player can create a minor 7th by playing a note and then any black and white note below the original note.
How is this affected, if by playing 3 notes
the new "basic fingering" mode this plays a chord as in fingered mode??

Hi Pete
With the 'Basic Fingering' mode, as long as you play only 1 or 2 notes in the left hand, the results are the same as the 'one finger' mode on earlier models. However, once you play 3 or more notes with the left hand then the results are the same as in 'fingered mode'. As I have only ever used 'fingered mode' I'm afraid I can't tell you what happens on pre 7000 models if you played 3 or more notes whilst in 'one finger' mode, but I suspect it will simply depend on whether or not any of the notes below the root note are black or white.
