Hey, I'm pretty new to the world of Synths and Sampling. I would much appreciate if someone who knows a thing or two would help me out. I purchased a Roland XV 20 20 Synth Module. The default sounds are alright, but I really am interested in making my own sounds, samples, and patches, to use witht he xv 2020. Can anyone tell me what my best bet is to do? Thanks A lot

You can mess around with the sounds using a computer based editor, but loading in your own samples - forget it!
Didn't Roland supply a editor for PC/Mac when new?

Only the 5080 has the sample playback options.

Thanks, any suggestions for programs I can use?
And if I am looking for a synth I could load samples onto, what should I look into?

Don't you have the editor that should be with the XV2020?

Synths that can playback samples:
A few do, but they all come at a price.
Think Triton, Fusion, Motif, Fantom.
Seem to remember the Yamaha SY series(77, and 99 I think) that you could fit a 512K board inside which was battery backed, samples could then be loaded via MIDI (this is very slooooooowwwwwwwwwwwww).
