Obviously the guy is loaded. No one I know can lay down 20G for one of many synths. The guy also made a list of equipment in the studio. God almighty!!!

You can't have too many toys. Looks like a nice room - wish I had all that space. I have everything crammed into a 10 x 20 room, and half of it is furniture. (Desk, shelves, couch & love seat) Not much room for company, but I have recorded as many as 5 pieces at once with great success. (I'd rather just do electronics stuff, but acoustic recordings ARE possible.)
I never do "live" drums - they have to use my Roland digital set.... there is just NO room or separation for an acoustic kit. The Rolands record great anyway...in alot of ways, they are better than a mic'd kit.
Now, I have 64 different drum setups at my fingertips, and I can record as late as I need to without disturbing anyone, or worrying about bleedthrough. (Except for that infernal TAPPING noice !!!!!!)
Can't use open mics at the same time without a sacrifice!

Imaginary cookie to anyone who spots the Waldorf Wave. Hint: stay focused on the centre.

Damn, almost missed it at first..and the Andromeda..and the Synthex! Is that God's house?

All I can say is.. It must be nice to have cash like that. I can't look at that picture any more or my jealousy will begin to show. Is it showing (tries stuffing it under the desk)?

Do you really need that much equipment to produce hit songs or music? I can only afford a mouse, 104 keyboard and a crappy mic and I can make a very nice tune.

No, while having tons of gear is a plus, it all comes down to the music not the gear used to make it.

..... right on Nigel .. the best music I've heard has been from an acoustic piano, stand up bass, and a trap set .....

Really a fantastic studio, especially the CS80. Everything looks NEW! Did he store them in a dry room in original package?
By the way: there's nothing to read or hear about his music, only the equipment. Does he USE it or does he only OWN it?

Crimelords rarely make music with their equipment. They are too busy taking care of "stuff".

Hmmmm. Jabba the Hutt owns a whole band, the Maxx-Rebo-Band. Right? So a crimelord may allow his slaves use his equipment.... .

Who cares?!?! I bet he has a blast in there. Look at the scenery. Nice setup. Anyone passionate about music and art should be so lucky to be able to afford to get that many toys. It doesn't matter if he writes like Bach or he writes like Moby, as long as he enjoys it.
