A gentleman in one of my audiences asked if my 6K has a caliope within..... He wanted to hear the music that opens the show under the Big Tent.....

I could find no caliope and I don't know what the opening music might be. I do hear a few bars in my head though not enough to work with...

Could not find a Caliope in my 7K either....

Help will be appreciated....

I believe the generally associated music is called 'Entrance of the Gladiators' or 'Entry of the Gladiators'
If this is the tune you want, leave it with me and I'll see what I can do......

BILL

In addition to finding out if there is a caliope in either the 6K or the7K, I have no idea what the titles of tune or tunes that open the show under the big top might be.

Any help at all will be appreciated....

Hi Elizabeth,
A Calliope is a musical instrument consisting of a series of steam whistles played from a keyboard - usually associated with a Circus. I believe it is also sometimes called a Steam Organ. There is some more Data Here : http://www.wdm.ca/nov29cal.htm
Click on the small picture to enlarge it....

There is one on the KN7000 - I'm not sure about the KN6000....
Press the SYNTH button in the SOUND GROUP and go to Page 1/3 and you'll find it on the Right Hand Side 'Synth Calliope'.

I'll email you a short simple version of 'Entry of the Gladiators' to see if that's the one.

BILL That Calliope is in the 7K right where you said it would be! I have added it to my sound memory. The sound is not quite like I think it should be.....will "tweak" it a bit till my ear likes it better.....

No Entrance or Entry of the Gladiators has reached me via e-mail yet. Am I just not patient enough?

Thanks for your help.....

Hi Elizabeth,
I emailed the file to the address in your Synthzone profile - is this correct?

Let me know and I'll send it again.

OK about the Calliope - there is another version of the sound in the MIDI voices and it has a bit more 'steam' within the sound - worth a try On the KN7000, You'll find it here :
SOUND EXPLORER > GM BASIC > Page 9/13 > Syn Calliope*

BILL Still no file in my email.... try same info @yahoo.com if you are still willing to send it.

Now have the alternative Calliope in my Sound memory so will be ready to roll with the music!

Again, many many thanks....

I like your signature line.... Mine also reflects where I am coming from....
