My 2 cents worth I bought an organ years ago and got 13 lessons free , and I got worse each week!! Bought a great book, ROY NEILL, THE MAGIC OF THE ORGAN, studied the chords, bought idiot books, they were in good company, which displays the letters in the notes, and practised, still can't read.Listened to a lot of records and play to please me, if somebody else likes it , that's a bonus. One man's meat?????? I agree Walter we all have to learn I still am learning we never stop just bought Alec’s Book the other day and some of it may as well be written in a foreign language but I will get through with perseverance (Who’s she not telling but WOW ) no ones going to laugh if a person does not play very well infact it may be beneficial to offer advice/guidance if the person requests it also it gives someone more self confidence my partner Gill is always giving me constructive criticism and she cant play a note cant sing either but that didn’t stop her humming in the supermarket never seen so much half price Cream/Milk for sale. (Sour)

No Bud I didn't really think Bebop would drop people from the music list if they didn't send a song in. I just think a couple of his comments could be misinterpreted by those here that don't feel their songs are worthy of being used on the 20 for 1 disks. I could probably come up with something but it won't be very exciting! SO many of the songs I've heard from others sound really professional. I don't want to waste space with a song not worth anyone's while. I understand encouraging others to play and share etc. Encouragment is great. Just not good when it sounds like 'guilt tripping' others. Esp ones that feel bad they have nothing worth sending. I'll work on something.

I bet you're an ear player. I always think ear players have a real advantage. I took piano lessons as a child and piano teachers always make you play things perfectly. Then when I got into keyboards and Fake Book playing, the rules all changed. Now it's fine to change things, add things, improvise...all things I would have been wrapped on the knuckles for when playing piano. All the things that come natural to ear players are harder for people like me I think.

I can see by the comments I'm being coerced into submitting a song......you may be sorry after you hear it though!

Bebop - I have risen to your challenge and sent in a small contribution. You just have to imagine my "Ladies choir" singing the harmony instead of the K.N. voices. The song is part of a Russian medley the girls are working on at the moment.I only started learning music when I retired so have no aspirations to be a performer, but am very interested in the "theory" of it all and in working out harmony and counter melody etc. The group is doing very well and will appear at Melbourne Crown Casino next week in front of 1000 people- their biggest Gig yet.Its a special day for Seniors and the group will give a one hour show. We are all very excited about it.It will be all music from my "old" K.N.5000. I wonder how it will sound through their mighty sound system.Cheers. Jean.

I'll quote an old friend who was a good player, accordian and organ. When people remarked how good he was, he usually replied, "I'm not really a good player, you just liked the tunes I was playing". There's a lot of truth in there!!. Walter.

Thank you Jean, your song sounds great and it is on Vol 3 of the 20 for 1 song disc now complete. I am currently working on disc 4 and have about 4 songs so far.
Best to all and thanks to all for participating

Beginning to wish I hadn't started off this particular thread revealing as it has the tyrannical regime to which we have exposed outselves. So, new members must impart intelligent information (fat chance in my case) and then let others borrow things, and now two innocent ladies must provide refreshments. Then juniors must provide two songs before they can join us.I tremble at what will be the next demand on us. Oooh, it's too horrible to contemplate.

I guess it is time to move on alright so I am going to close this topic and let you start another one so we can make a brand new set of demands on everyone. It is taking to long to open this topic with all the posts in it.
