hi....been a long time since I've visited arrangerland...but a friend has lent me his Korg i3 (the new version) while he's on tour and I'm really impressed by it. very fast workflow and in some respects it sounds like a Triton. great sketchpad.

here's my question: I know the styles on i3/EK mostly come from the PA50 and similar...are they also included on newer Korg arrangers like the PA 700? just looked for the i3's "New Jazz" style, which is a solid unique one, in the PA 700 list and didn't see.
if I buy the 700, is it possible to load those earlier PA styles?

thanks in advance for any/all insights....

I have loaded older styles from 900 to my 1000 and I think all korg arrangers are able to do that.

Hi Tom,
I would imagine they should load int the pa700, ( not vice versa , though) but they might not sound as good. I’ve got a heap of old Pa1x, pa800 styles etc thatI have collected over many years. I just keep them in my database, just in case I may need one. I recently got them out again after getting back into Korgi world ( bought a pa5x,) they work, but they sound very mediocre. If I end up needing one, I’ll have to tweak it.

So keep that in mind. Other thing would be to save the styles on usb, and see if you can try them before you purchase the PA 700.

I’ll check my collection and see if the style you mentioned might have been a pA style originally.

Yes you can load styles from older Korg arrangers in a Pa700 although they may need tweaking

Incidentally you can find the styles from previous models on the Korg Bonusware site.
