I got the Medeli AKX10 for a few days now and I really like it. Finally back to the Yamaha sound 😀 For those interested and have questions go ahead and ask me.

Write up a review on it! This board has caught the attention of a lot of people, and just being able to find one is apparently difficult. Many people in some places who pre-ordered had their orders cancelled by the shops because they had no indication from Medeli when they were shipping. Not long ago it was just a handful of them out there.

I just got it and i am not very good in writing reviews. Jeremy did a review on youtube about this keyboard and i agree with everything he said. It is better than the casio ctx 5000 and korg ek50 I both owned. I love the touchscreen and everything is very easy to find. The keys play very nice and the fact it has usb audio/midi is just great. Only need one cable to integrate my ipad or you can use bluetooth.

Can't find anyone selling unit in US. This looks like the kb many of us less wealthy. I do wonder what style format and if we would be able to convert yamaha or korg styles to it.

Yes you can convert yamaha styles with the software GrandSuite V2 you can download from Medeli. Also you can load your own samples with the 768MB sample expansion using this software.

Not on sam ash website. The cheaper models yes but not the AKK10.
Thank you for letting me know about the software conversion. This may be the stuff to push me to purchase. Gotten the wife to agree to a new kb IF she gets a new car!

As always, your mileage may vary when it comes to style conversion. In ‘theory’ it works but there are still considerable differences between the style engines of even the Big Three that can lead to problems. And Medeli probably has some wrinkles that might be an issue. How well does it deal with Yamaha’s Articulated style sounds (those are problematic on Korg’s and Roland’s) or does it work with maj/min/7th or maj/min/dim styles?

I’d really like to hear some converted styles played next to their Yamaha originals. This is usually where you start to hear the truth. It’s quite the package, and the touch screen implementation and build quality look good, but in fairness I didn’t hear anything that might tempt me away from the arrangers it’s compared to, given it’s compared to much more expensive ones.

But the best thing about it may be the pressure it puts on Yamaha or Korg to start raising the bar of their arrangers in this price range. That’s going to be good for all of us. And far more widely available…

I emailed Sam Ash and they emailed back saying they would not be carrying the Medeli AKX 10.

I think that says it all. When I was there they had three models on display.

I might hold out for a used SX900 in maybe a year (lots of short attention span arranger players! Bet Donny has sold two by now 😂) and get something with a chord sequencer. It’s a game changer…

Hi! I have an AKX10 on order. I need to know if the AKX10 will do "stop accompaniment" as Yamaha does. Set up for auto accompaniment except "Start" button turned off. All auto left hand and bass sound, but rhythm is stopped. Plays like an organ with LH auto accompaniment but no style/rhythm. If you tell me no, I will have to cancel order. Thanks!!

ddmetzger that functionality can be conferred to ANY arranger from Yamaha or any other brand, that allows for: (1) custom style creation, and either (2a) sync stop; or (2b) the combination of arranger "hold" and "retrigger."

I agree that it's a very useful configuration for practicing, or covering religious music that doesn't have percussion, and doesn't follow a uniform meter. But it shouldn't be pivotal to your buying decision for the reasons I stated above. I have personally imparted this feature to Korg, Roland, and GEM keyboards that did not have it as a native function. It's just a special and creative use of the features that are already there!

Congratulations, FransN, the PA1000 seems like quite a beast :-)

If I’m not mistaken, you usually choose something from the middle of the line, I wonder if you will find a principle difference.

Thanks Kabinopus, I have had a Korg pa3x and a Pa600 but because of money issues i had to sell them. Now i finally have the money to buy something better then the casio’s etc i have had lately 😀 so i am very happy. The AKX10 was a nice keyboard but mostly i didn’t like the effects on it. Not a very good reverb for example.

That was quick smile Other than the effects settings was there anything else that you did not like? Glad you were able to settle in on the PA1000.
