In addition to AJ's last Ketron livestream show I have mailed him with additional questions about the use of the Launchpad function on the SD9/90/60 , see below. I hope he will devote an tutorial video to these issues in due time.

John

Thank you for slightly elaborating on the use of the Launchpad yesterday , all the more so as the show
was not intended to do so.....Nonetheless your reply and the show have launched some important and
additional questions regarding the use of the Launchpad.
It is important for me to state that I am basically interested in using the SD as a band, as an arranger keyboard
and that I have not got any interest in the use of Midifiles per se. I think most entertainers will share that view as
they either play live or if they don't and they are singers they will use quality "Backing Tracks "these days, varying
from the cheapo karaoke tracks to the more sophisticated and commercial available backing tracks of most pop
songs these days.
Anyway back to the Launchpad. I have understood how to get the style you are playing in the Launchpad which is
of course dead easy and how basically you can add a max. of three pads. But there it ends......

My questions are:

1.
having added a complete style and wanting to add a track/pad I can go to the righthand side of the screen where I can
choose from certain categories.(bass, piano, orchestral etc.) . But can I also ADD and select an existing track from another
style which is already there and if so how ? for instance I play Swing 1, import the complete style into Launchpad and then
want to add two acc.tracks from Swing 2 ?

2
Additionally, can I add one or two acc. tracks out of a Midifile to fill up these three places ? In other words I have imported
Swing 1 and I would like to add two or three pads with tracks from an existing Midifile for normal chord playing.....

3
Once I have fully loaded scene ONE by adding three pads/tracks, can I copy these same three tracks in one go to the other
Scenes , similar to when in style/view you select Global instead of Single to make sure that a sound that you change in
variation A will remain in the other variations. Or do I have to add/copy the same three extra tracks in Launchpad manually for
each other Scene ?

4
AS you have explained the Scenes 1-4 are the style settings A,B,C,D.
When I am in normal style play mode I can access all 4 Fill ins and 4 Breaks at the bottom of the screen. If I were to play
the same style in Launchpad (with three added pads/tracks) I have no access to the Fill ins and Breaks other than the
hardware button below the screen. Am I correct in assuming that while playing the style via Launchpad you have no access
to the fills and breaks ????

As you can see a fair number of appropriate questions remain, and I fervently hope you will address them in a tutorial the next
few weeks. Other than that I cannot thank you enough for all the work you are doing for us Ketron players.

regards,
John

>>>AJ:- Yes you can but there is no DIRECT COPY function. You have to first know the style you want to COPY from (e.g. Swing), extract the style parts from it into the USER Modelling folder, then in LP, go to that folder and import the track(s) into the PADS within the current SCENE. Here is how:-

* Go to that style (from which you want to copy parts FROM).
* Touch VIEW to display the view screen.
* Touch EDIT to enter the style editor
* Here you now have the option to COPY/EXPORT the style as individual parts (bass, chord1 ...etc), so touch COPY/EXPORT
* Touch the Arranger section (A, B, C, D) whose parts you want to export as a *.mid
* Touch EXECUTE to export these tracks. They will be exported into the USER MODELLING folder

PART 2 (in LP environmemt).
* Go to LP and as explained before to you, import your style from the STYLE to LP environment (playing the style and pressing LP to bring the entire style into the LP environment).
* Go to the SCENE you want to edit and TOUCH the empty PAD where you want to load the section of the SWING style you were working on above.
* With pad in EDIT mode, touch USER (this is where any styles parts you EXTRACTED from the STYLE EDITOR above .... or any MIDI FILES you want to use within the LP environment will be).
* Touch the style track from the SWING style (or the midifile [single track] that you want to use within this PAD in this current SCENE).
* It will be loaded immediately and can now be used.

2
Additionally, can I add one or two acc. tracks out of a Midifile to fill up these three places ? In other words I have imported
Swing 1 and I would like to add two or three pads with tracks from an existing Midifile for normal chord playing.....
>>>AJ:- Yes (answered above). Tracks must be in USED MODELLING - USER FOLDER!

>>>AJ:- Once loaded you can use COPY SCENE and copy entire scene content from one SCENE to another.

to the fills and breaks ????
>>>AJ:- You do have access to the fill ins and breaks. Although you no longer have dedicated buttons (Fill 1-4, Break 1-4) on either screen or panel, the physical FILL and BREAK panel buttons are 'tied' to the Arranger you currently are in. So ... if you are in ARRANGER A/SCENE 1, and you press FILL, you get FILL1. If you press BREAK, you get BREAK1. If you are in ARRANGER B/SCENE 2 and you press the FILL button, you get FILL2 or if you press the BREAK button, you get BREAK2 ...etc.

As you can see a fair number of appropriate questions remain, and I fervently hope you will address them in a tutorial the next
few weeks. Other than that I cannot thank you enough for all the work you are doing for us Ketron players.
