Yes and no...

Its not just the name..
Its also the content that can be different.
Like Debeg that puts their own samples inside

So we dont know if its exactly the same?

Don't know for sure. Kurzweil ad says contains their "triple strike piano" sound. Same sound chip in Medeli brand? Curious..more curious about AKX10 that hasn't been distributed in US yet. No decision on that per Medeli rep I emailed.

Interestingly, Medeli marketed the A810(KP200) as an A1000 with a touch screen 5 years ago but dropped the t/s..wonder why a move backward. Faulty perhaps, or cost..

Judy Collins said it best... "Send in the clones / Where are the Clones? / There ought to be clones / Well, maybe next year!" :-D

Maybe some dealer out there knows if there's a difference? Who do you ask?

Its not a move backwards...

Just different models. The kurzweil model is not the current high end medelli.. but a lower model.

My question is why didn't Medeli stick with the a1000 with touch screen instead of their subsequent and current a810 without? Maybe because the touch screen is in the AKX10?

Because the a810 is not the follow up of the a1000, its a lower end model in the same series... much like psrs 900 and 700 from Yamaha..

Dont know if the a1000 is still available, it was the top model in that series. I know some german 3rd party named debeg is still using a rebrabded a1000

Here in Holland the a1000 is still listed as available in shops, but its no longer the top model thats the akx10, which costs almost as much as a pa700 or psr sx700.
