I am enjoying my Sx900 very much. I sold my Pa4x and kept my Sx900, that says it all.

John what were your reasons for
Your decision to keep the sx900 over the amazing Pa4x..?

WOW, I was beginning to think everybody got rid, of or cut there SX900 up to make a
module.

Glad to see I'm not the only one left enjoying it.

Eddie if we ever get out of this place and situation I wish you good luck with the "baby genos" on stage ...... for me it was to just strap up and just GO For It because no matter how much preparation at home there is is nothing like letting go of the old & being on stage performing with a NEW keyboard in real time to make the adjustments, edits, tweaks, and also get fluid with the operation,
fixing mistakes, and navigation which only repetition
and corrections cannot replace...

all the best!!

A SX900 Baby genos module, and a 78key model would be a winner...
but I guess Yamaha doesn't see it like that frown

There are two main categories, Pros out playing, and home players.
My thinking: The home player does not need speed, he spends more time with the possibilities. He dreams and creates, very much like an artist doing a painting. Because it is not necessary for any one to see my face, I have a 23” monitor in front of me. I can mirror my keyboard screen, or my laptop.

Many of my songs are in note form. I used the Encore program to create. I select a song, and the page has 4 to 8 songs embedded, in the same mode. I have about 200 songs that I can go to, from Pop, to Ethnic music with a single click. Now I am ready to enjoy and learn the best way to set up the Sx900.

I was setting the Sx900 for playing out, now it is ready for my home player needs. All this takes time, but lock-down helped me with that. I am enjoying my new keyboard and my new life. I am ready to record, but my voice has this raspy sound, I hope it clears.

John good luck with your process...we all do it differently as we are all different. If it works for you then go for it.
Hope to hear some of your songs when the raspiness goes away.

kind regards

John, there are many successful singers with 'raspy' voices - Satchmo, Durante - come to mind ... don't let that stop you my friend ...

So Randy what is your assessment of the two units..?

Donny - For me, they are both keepers! Love the Korg for styles which in some genres have a more contemporary feel to them. Also love the PA4x "live" sounding combo styles.

On the other hand, for my recording projects (particularly the sax), I like the more "CD ready" sounds of the SX900. So at present, I am definitely enjoying the "at or near best" of both Korg and Yamaha worlds.
