I think Facebook discussion groups are a poor substitute for moderated forums. YES it's easier to post pictures, FB "live," etc. But the search function really doesn't compare, so the same questions get asked again and again. I hope the old BBSs that preceded it never go away because there is so much knowledge here. What we're seeing is like the destruction of the ancient library at Alexandria!!

I was on Facebook for about a week at the request of my children. They said it made it easier to keep in touch. After a week, and all the BS that I saw, I called them on the telephone and said that I wanted something more personal and it was much easier to just come over for a visit and I would grill them a steak, or merely call me on the phone. They agreed, I purchased some fillet mignon's from Snake River Farms, Gold Grade Wagu, everyone loved them, and asked when I was having the next cookout. Amazing how wonderful it is to meet someone face to face. That's the same reason Carol and I went on all those road trips to the sunny south. Sure was fun meeting all the forum members along the way.

Mel I can honestly say that the Pa1000 although a few disagree is for the price and bang for the buck one of the most quality feature & navigationally packed arranger keyboard on the market today
for the player/singer hands down. Not to mention the fantastic SONGBOOK also.
I had one last year besides having two Pa4x units also,...
and since going thru almost all that is out there except the SD9
when I add all my needs up vs all the Pa1000 features
the Pa1000 comes closest at this time. Now with all this time on my hands and an empty studio as a blank canvas & quarantine boredom
I just might try one again we'll see.....

Still love my PA4X! It's currently unplugged due to space issues, but it's still there frequently winking at me and saying "comon' and take me for a spin". Ha ha. Glad to have it in the arsenal for sure!

I've pretty much been a "Korg" person when it came to arrangers, especially for my TOTL ( aside from my T2 which I still have. I usually worked more with mid range Yamaha arrangers, but I've been a Yamaha guy for workstations ( Motif, Motif Es, etc ). Well now, I have a Genos, which is awesome, and a PA700, which has pleasantly surprised me at how much is in there at that price range. My "workstation" is now a Korg virtual Wavestation. I'm really happy with all of it !

We, I would not say the Korg Pa4x was that good; I had three Pa4x, and sold all three.

About a month ago I bought another Pa4x. It is complete in so many ways.

Did you forget why you dumped the first three? I'm just saying, not many guys would marry/divorce/re-marry the same woman FOUR times smile. But then again, maybe you just needed that SX900 for a 'threesome' smile smile.

Chas I guess unlike the hoarding syndrome disease many people suffer from where people buy stuff they don't need and keep buying it with no rhyme or reason and end up with all this useless stuff all over the house doing nothing but gathering dust,..they instead buy the same units over and over again a few times and resell them until one day they learn what their real needs are and hopefully settle in on one piece of gear and sit down play it and enjoy it.
Makes sense?

PS the logos are included free also!! just sayin'...

Oh boy I hear the bell ringing could that be UPS
today is the day? cool2

Donny, with all due respect, as the KING of impulse buying, if a purchasing decision makes sense to YOU, I'm going to avoid it like the plague (regardless of WHO's delivering it). Hey, at least I don't buy keyboards as a substitute for something else.

Yes, in defense of Donny. I can understand why he is searching keyboards. He's looking for the perfect balance and the only way to do that is to test them in multiple uses, venue's, etc. How else would you know the "Ruby Red Shoes" fit? I can understand this; I feel the same way; however, I do have a "Goto" keyboard for my critical gigs, but I still have keyboard wanderlust.

How are you Steve?! Doing well here; everyone is thankfully healthy. Going stir crazy, we started doing driveway happy hours here in my community and a neighbor of mine is starting driveway DJ/Karaoke for the neighbors. Its all good fun and helps relieve the anxiety and tension everyone feels. Of course, the beer and wine helps too!!!

How are you coping?

Yeah, I overlook all of his uh, behavioral patterns smile once he starts singing. I always really enjoy his vocals, some of the best (if not THE best) on Synthzone. I just wish he'd get a B3 and be done with it smile smile.

Chas I expected a typical hoarder denial reply used to it
I have many musician friends that hoard for no reason,...
hey that is their thing used to be mine but
I did the 12 step and was weened off that scenario.
I still see it bothers you... but those comments roll off my shoulder like Teflon.
I'll stop here as it's too early for
angryness on the day of my new KORG arrival...
not talking your bait buddy.
Enjoy all you acquired and sit down and play today
you will certainly feel better.
Now back to my Cappuccino.....

Checking in...love my 3X and will ride it out until the next Korg comes along to check out. The DP24 is rocking my world. Most fun I've had in a long time and it is so quality good - amazing.

I agree John Boredom is a bitch for sure.
It is created by one and can be corrected by one too...
if you want to and know how.
How someone goes about it is up to them but it surly can be done. Music for me is one of the answers in my life
and I am glad I have it...there are many more,....
but if you give up, your sunk. wink
Carry on..and play music every day!

No Boredom around here. Plenty of landscaping, now that a few garden centers are open - gee thx, Gov. (Shuts down the state for another damn month - sickening).

Also have my total gym and sauna done in basement now, so that takes up a couple hours.

Night is usually when I do music, but to be honest, without any work in sight, I'm really getting discouraged. I don't know how others' without a 2nd (in my case 1st) income can stay optimistic. I have to hand it to UD and others that stay on course and keep a great attitude - impressive.

I'm very ready to get back to work. It is not absolutely essential that I work, but the money sure comes in handy when you want to buy stuff. smile
At this stage when it gets to be not fun I won't work any more, but right now I miss it a lot.
Things are looking up. The state says restaurants, in addition to being open for pickup and delivery can now seat people outside if they have patios, covered or not. I know my place will most likely make provisions for outside seating.

We had a NH gig come in this morning for us to play in the garden area on May 29. The residents will watch the show from their surrounding apartments, and those that do come out will be seated 15 feet apart. Hope the weather is kind.
