1959. Heard Ray Charles play What'd I Say. That did it for me. bought a brown one the next day. Still have it and play it a couple of times a year. Reeds are difficult to come by now.

LOVE IT!

Russ

I had a Wurlitzer EP in 1979-80. Never did like it much. Hard to move, delicate, had to be tuned with an exacto knife and solder, only one sound. Don't miss it at all.
That great sound is available on most all modern keyboards.

Good stuff. A classic sound but like Don said better done on a modern keyboard these days. Never had one but did have tow "Heavy" Rhodes. They were easy to tune.

You're very welcome Tony

That said maybe a little awkward to move but as a studio piece it can't be matched..

Donny, Great find, it is amazing how some simple notes turn into famous songs. And to hitchhike on Russ' post Ray Charles and "What I'd Say" caught my attention too! cool

Yeah, I remember the days of lugging a Rhodes around ... rolleyes

And then helping the B3 player in the classic rock group haul his rig ...

My SEVEN does a great Wurly but I'm not a big fan of the sound.

I had one. Used that with a Hammond M3 sawed in half. Quit the band. After about a year I decided I would not need it anymore so I sold it in my music store. I swear as soon as I sold it within a few days the guys in the band talked me into coming back and I did, minus a Wurly piano. haha

I still have it's case which now holds a Magnavox Quad Receiver Tuner which I guess I'll sell one of these days.
