Since my discovery of the midi guitar compatibility with the SD7, my thoughts now wander to the possible upgrade to an SD60. (someday) Has anyone here made that leap? I've seen a few videos and the two seem to sound, look and perform much the same. Are the SD7 limitations still there in the SD60? These two concern me:

1) delay when loading styles
2) antiquated pedal, and monitor/TV/connections (much prefer 1/4 pedal and HDMI

The SD60 seems to be in the same case as the SD7 - is the weight the same? Speakers the same? Power, etc? Too much time on my hands .... so many questions.

Go for it Dave. Sounds like the SD60 is a significant upgrade.

Dave, I love what you are doing – research --- discovery --- dedication. interest. Keeps you a good place out of trouble. Nice.

And who care if it does not work just right, although that would be nice, even so, the adventure continues. (2 nices)

Oh no, my young padawan .... this is me wondering what ELSE can improve my shows. This unit has surprised me more than I thought it could, so now I want to know what I can gain, if anything from a more current model. As you know, this one came into my hands quite by accident ... or maybe not ? Time will tell. The only thing I know for certain is ... I am I am I I am intrigued.

You are right about Dave not needing much more improvement, but this is not more improvement. It is more about

“-Every instrument, every voice, every sound in nature ... these are are all my private tutors”

It is his desire to grow and learn, he is searching. Nice!
IMHO, John C.

Hi Dave,
Have you checked out the manuals or specifications, might show if something has been upgraded or if there are new functions.

Aw shux - that's nice for you to say, my friend, but as you know, to stay alive in this crazy business, you hav e to be a chameleon. I want the best tools possible to inspire me, and make me want to put up with all the "business" end of Show Biz. Miss Piggy sad it best when she said "It's not Show ART, it's show business!"
Thanks for the nod of approval - means a lot.

Rikki,
Haven't seen the manual of the SD60 yet - still learning the SD7. From whta I hear on line - there is not a significant difference in sound to lean me towards upgrading, but if the loading delay issues were addressed - I might change my mind. I understand that the styles are loading real audio samples, and that take a lot of processing power, so it may just be something to live with if you want that sound. The pedal and TV connections are a minor concern, and if the delay hasn't gone away - I'll probably stop thinking about it. The load time is the only thing that really makes a difference to me.
