...as only Herbie Hancock can. If you can hang in there to the end, I think you might find this very inspirational. Some really fine performances here....the sentiment isn't bad either.

Fantastic! I can’t believe I’ve not heard this version before. A very interesting , collaborative and multi -cultural approach. I think John Lennon would have loved it!

You've got good taste, Paul. I thought most musicians would like it.

Hi Chas,
Very interesting version, really enjoyable.
Heard of Pink and Seal, but never come across the other young lady before.

And of course I’ve come across Herbie Hancock before, loved his piano accompaniment for that first half.

Yeah Tony, Herbie is a genius. He's done this type of thing before, most notably with Christina Aguilara (SP). I've heard the African ladies before, they're a delight. Seal is Seal, pure emotion. India Aire is her usual self, brilliant. Jeff Beck continues to have the purest tone in guitar heaven. Glad you and Rikki enjoyed it. Whoops, almost forgot Pink. Didn't realize she had those kind of chops. The lady can sing.

Chas, I understand what making it your own means, it is my understanding of how to express my music. Learned the song, then play what the song makes you feel.
This is one of my reasons, for not using back tracks. But that's just me.

Chas, thank you, nice post, John C.

Pink was GOOD. Ms. Arie was BETTER!

Herbie is an innovator. And, he wrote Watermelon Man. Now what long-time musician didn't play that one beaucoup times?

Interpretation is what I am in the business for.

And this was interpretation at it's best.

Thanks, Chas

R.
