I like to stand at my performances, and most collapsable stands are too narrow when they are elevated to standing height. This one shows promise. It's not quite as rock solid as I'd like, but I have a few ideas to strengthen the loose areas. After all - it's only $50, so I didn't expect miracles. I also ordered this scrim to cover the wires, etc, and I plan to light it from underneath. (looks WAY cool)

The On Stage boom extensions work great in the tube end, as well.

I'm assuming you haven't used it on a job yet, so I look forward to your review after that ...

I'm going to mess with it today, and hopefully try it Wednesday. Fingers crossed - always looking for better ideas.

Heres a few more pics. I use Velcro straps to attach this $7 Home Depot shelve to add more stability from the drunks who pass by. This seriously may work. I can't wait to try the lighted scrim later today.

Dave, your minds is always searching – what a wonderful way to live.

Not for nothen’, but it can also be used for a laundry rack. Aaaaaaaaaaah!

Dave, my concern would be it's inability to tilt. Elevated for stand-up playing, some guys like a little tilt. However, I suppose you could put some kind of wedge or something at the back and under the shelf unit if this were a problem. Of course you still need the little can of black spray paint smile.

Ooooo, not me, my friend. I like it parallel to the ground. At this current height, it feels the same as if I'm seated at an acoustic piano key bed. I can't think of anyone that tilts a kb, unless it's a double, or triple tier setup. Cuirious - would you tilt it AWAY from you, or towards you?

Neither. I can't play standing up (it's tough playing pedals balancing on one foot smile ).

I covered a 1 inch thick by 3 inch wide board just shorter than the KB with speaker cloth and used Velcro to attach it to the bottm of the KB away from the keys - to give it a little tilt to see the screen better, because the screen doesn't tilt ...

That'd be totally uncomfortable for me. It bends the wrists in an unnatural position.

siting, standing - no difference. Its the relative position to your arms

In my set up the rear of the KB is only raised about 1 1/4 inches ... no REAL change of keybed angle ...

Hi
Anyone here has heard of this
https://www.jaspers-alu.de/kids-2_6-2-tiers.html
I own one for years; nice looking, steady, modular, tilt as you want, lot of models....
Just saying

I do, and they'll have to pry mine from my cold, dead fingers smile. I'm pretty sure Don does as well, and maybe a few others. I have three (3) tiers on mine with three heavy keyboards on them, all very accessible, control wise. Strong as an ox but light as a feather (mine is aluminum). Don't know if I'd take one to a gig but in the studio, none better.

Just got a Standtastic two tier. Sets up/ packs up fast, lightweight, and I put it in a cheap 88 note keyboard bag along with my mic stand. Bag that comes with the stand is garbage. Takes up no room in the car. Worth a look if your still shoppimg.
