Initially there was some jazz pianist in the first post. Now there’s some bald guy playing. As for the keyboard, I wouldn’t say that it’s a perfect product, but in its own niche right now it has no direct competitors. Not sure, still, how you, Donny, would like it after playing Genos and Pa4x. I guess there’s a reviewer living inside you and you are curious about every product, and it’s great. As for me, if I had extra money, I would probably go for Yamaha MODX instead. I’ve never actually tried one, but I have an impression that most of MODX’s voices would be much more superior. Meanwhile, there’s also Roland FA07; who knows if that one can be even better.

The Juno DS is certainly a lower-tier synth compared to the MODX and FA-07, although it‘s a good value for the money.
Surprisingly, some of the Juno DS sounds are even newer and better than the equivalents in the FA-07 due to Roland‘s strange decisions. The FA has a selection of SuperNatural Acoustic sounds, but a lot are missing. For brass, sax etc. you are left with the very old PCM section taken from the XV 5080, or you have to use one of the two expansion slots for the studio expansion, but the two slots won‘t cover everything you might need. The Juno DS has a wide selection of newer samples in all areas of acoustic sounds. As I said, one of Roland‘s obscure product desicions...

But remember there is only one expansion slot in the Juno DS, only one EXP usable at a time!

Although Donny has already sold his Juno DS, I want to add to this thread my new video with its piano:

There're things which I don't like about this keyboard, but I must say that how it sounds when I play softly with my left hand is very much the way I prefer it. ALthough I have thoughts that Roland just bought some third-party piano samples. It's much easier than designing the whole new arranger with hundreds of new styles.

So far when I want to play piano I play Roland and I play PSR when I want everything but piano.
