I always used C3 on my Hammonds and still do on the VK8 built into my BK9. The ones I've seen play are in Gb, as they like to call it. Why? It's the pentatonic scale. They can't play a wrong note with that. But, what's interesting is if you ask them to, most can't play a 'real' song, and they will admit it, even though they can really cook in jam mode.
